The junior section at Altona North SC. Ten teams from U7 MiniRoos through to U14 Juniors, training and playing at AB Shaw Reserve in Laverton.
The junior section runs ten teams across the 2026 season, from U8 MiniRoos taking their first kicks through to U14 Juniors mixing it in age-group football. We compete in Coles MiniRoos Mixed Sunday and Junior Mixed Sunday under Football Victoria, with squads named after Spanish footballing locales (Masnou and Oriol) and the Aussie classics (Kangaroos and Wallabies) to distinguish multiple teams in the same age group.
Junior football at ANSC is built on the same values as the senior section: family-friendly, welcoming, and proud of where it comes from. Every senior player you see at Duane Reserve was once a junior somewhere - we are committed to giving the next generation the same start.
Football Victoria's MiniRoos program is grassroots football done properly. Small-sided games, equal time on the pitch, no scores or ladders, and a focus on touches, fun, and friendships. ANSC runs five MiniRoos sides across U8, U9, and U10 in 2026.
Once players step out of MiniRoos they move into age-group competitive football, with results, ladders, and the proper rhythm of a Football Victoria season. ANSC runs five Junior teams across U12, U13, and U14 in 2026, all in the A-grade Mixed Sunday divisions.
Junior football at ANSC is based at AB Shaw Reserve in Laverton. Training nights and Sunday morning fixtures all run out of AB Shaw, with full pitches for the older age groups and small-sided setups for the MiniRoos.
It is a separate ground from the senior section's home at Duane Reserve, but it carries the same colours, the same culture, and the same Sunday morning energy that has defined ANSC junior football for decades.
